About Sangha:
Sangha- Swadharma Swarajaya Sangha was incorporated on 28.03.1930 under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1913 as a company limited by shares. Later on Sangha obtained a license from the Central Government under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 and is a non-profit company formed for promoting various charitable activities and to spread religious practices and to establish and carry on educational institutions for imparting both academic and technical training to students.
Sangha was promoted by Late Kowtha Surya Narayana Rao father of Late Mohan Ram Sastry and grandfather of Late K.L. Manohar. K.S. Rao was the managing director of Sangha till his death on 25.05.1964. Late K.S. Rao by will dated 11.08.1960 bequeathed various movable and immovable properties to Sangha for being held and applied for the activities of Sangha.
Disputes revolving around Sangha
On or about 1978, disputes arose between Late K.L. Manohar the grandson of Late K.S. Rao with regard to the management of Sangha with Late B.V.S.S. Mani and his family members. Since the attitude of the latter and his family members had become undesirable and they kept the working of Sangha in dark.

“This matter is almost half a century old. Fortunately, the parties have now agreed upon for resolution of the entire dispute and have filed a comprehensive memo settling whole dispute. This settlement, we hope paves way for the Sangha formed under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956 purely for charitable purposes is back on track and the noble intentions and wishes of the Founder of the Sangha are achieved by the legal representatives, who are now in management of the Sangha.
We place on record our sincere appreciation to both Mr.A.K.Mylsamy and Mr.P.Subba Reddy for having helped the parties to arrive at a negotiated settlement of a very old dispute.
A feather in the cap: Mr. AK Mylsamy Senior Advocate
Mr AK Mylsamy having an experience of around 68 years has been the only advocate representing his clients in the above matter throughout the litigation without any change in the counsels.
Mr. AK Mylsamy has been a pillar of support for the parties, in effectively assisting the court in the entire lis and has been a driving force in bringing about an amicable settlement for this half a decade year old litigation.
I’m Gen X with a boho heart. Helps me traverse today’s Gen Z world, their thoughts and lingo. While that has kept my drive and ambition intact, I strive to maintain the professionalism, ethics, trustworthiness and goodwill that the 6-decade firm and its founder represent.
“AKM” the firm and its founder had humble beginnings. It was an organic legal journey – from a sole proprietorship to a partnership firm and now Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
I joined the AKM legal family almost immediately after the completion of my legal education, Despite being in a family run law firm, I did not get preferential treatment. I was treated like any other intern. From bundling papers, tying tags, filing, checking cause lists and submitting work update status, I have done it all. I deeply cherish those times as it taught me patience – a virtue which is a ‘must have’ for the legal profession. Patience slaps. It is a virtue that the young and budding legal professionals must inculcate. Patience is not antithesis of ambition. Being patient helps people achieve long term success rather than short term gains.
While meeting clients, interacting with seniors and contemporaries, I learnt that success need not be measured with one’s Guap. There are intangibles –professionalism, ethics, loyalty and commitment to deliver solutions make a person as a standout success. Now, money cannot buy such qualities. On the other hand, my ability to connect with youngsters / budding lawyers/ interns helps me hit different in thinking out of the box and quirky! I go all out to bring in an element of creativity to a professional that is perceived monotonous and complicated. Case in point – ‘The Law Tree’. Be it the illustrations or the content, we go all out to make Law a continuous learning process and stay open to learning and unlearning to keep pace with changing times.
I’m woke about gender sensitivity- an issue that has had a lasting impression on me. Being a woman is a challenge, more so being a woman in a male dominated legal profession. Making one’s presence matter… matters! I’m doing my bit in breaking stereotypes of women having to constantly prove themselves and women being considered ‘financially illiterate’. I ‘clap back’ by managing the law firm to the best of my ability keeping in mind the client’s requirement and the progress of the firm. It is a delicate balance, which must be continually maintained – like being a mother and lawyer. Now that is a journey, not a destination. Just like the Law Tree. Thank you all for encouraging us through this journey. It will only get better, like my Gen Z lingo! Sharing the meaning for all to enjoy!!
Used to describe how exceptional something is.
Money, and lots of it.
When something is unique or better than the usual.
Woke refers to being politically aware.
A response or comeback after you've been "called out" for something.
Imagine a legal saga that started as a whisper and grew into a resounding success story! That is the story of AKM. The metamorphosis of the entity mirrors the dynamic spirit of today’s legal landscape. My mother Subathra’s journey has been a roller coaster ! A heady mix of ambition and elbow grease. She worked her way up navigating the intricate world of law.
I learnt from AKM’s founder (my buddy…my grandfather) the importance of ethics and that success transcends the weight of a wallet.
My mother redefined femininity in Legal Cosmos and is an icon to me. Being a woman, she embraced all challenges with grace. To me, she’s a trailblazer. The Law Tree is a shining example.
Cheers to the journey ahead! As we ride the waves of change, your encouragement fuels our fire. Thank you for being a part of our story. Brace yourselves; the AKM saga is only getting more electrifying and adventurous from here!
