Want to put Ice cream in back pocket? Not in Alabama
In Alabama, it is illegal to put ice cream in your back pocket.
This peculiar law dates to the 19th century and was originally meant to prevent people from stealing horses. The idea was that if someone wanted to steal a horse, they’d use ice cream in their back pocket to lure the horse to them. So, if you’re craving ice cream in Alabama, maybe leave the back pocket for your phone!
Right Vs Easy – an eternal choice to be made
Choosing between right and wrong or good and bad seems passe. The choice is now between what is right and what is easy!
Doing the right thing always involves being aligned with your inner self, ethics and morality as the right action or path has lasting consequences almost always for the good. This involves an action or path where the result is not instantaneous.
Doing an easy action or choosing an easy path offers instant gratification as the results are immediate. However, that may not be fulfilling in the long run. There is lesser thought and rationale that goes into taking an easy path.
So how does one choose? Going with one’s intuition and rationalizing with oneself almost always helps one choose. The ability to put oneself out to hard work and sacrifice determines if they are doing the right thing or the easy thing
A dialogue from the iconic Harry Potter series sums it all up “We’re in a time when we must choose between what is right and what is easy and remember, whatever happens, you’re never alone.”
