Fear: The Weapon on Mankind

Fear is a silent killer

Since ages, fear has been used as a weapon against mankind primarily to subjugate them. 

Fear is a feeling of something dangerous, unpleasant, violent or tragic happening. In simple words, it is an unsettling feeling. Typically, it cripples the human mind from objective and rational thinking. It thrives on vulnerability of the human mind. In many circumstances, it ignites survival instincts. In several other cases, it makes a person dependent. 

Fear is at the root of terror. The perpetrators of terror themselves are often driven by fear – of loss of ideology or failed cause or of being feared. Though they use fear as a tool to intimidate innocent people, they are themselves scared of failure.

While fear or anxiety are not harmful, too much of it can be counter productive to a human being. It is crucial to identify factors causing fear and address it head on without using violent and intimidatory tactics. Of all practices, mindfulness is the most effective as it enables one to acknowledge one’s feeling and not be overwhelmed by it. fear must also be used to propel positive action and ability to take risk. Not all fear is bad.
